Medical health forms, located in the student's application portal at https://admissions.newberry.edu/status/, are required, along with a copy of the student's immunization record and a copy of their health insurance card.
Students at Newberry College are very strongly advised, encouraged, and expected to have health insurance. Insurance coverage may be through a parent or family plan, a state health plan, a state healthcare exchange plan, or a private purchased plan. Health insurance ensures that students can receive medical care, including doctor's office visits, urgent care clinics, medical prescriptions, or emergency treatment when needed without the worry of facing overwhelming costs. Health insurance can be expensive, but a medical emergency or unexpected medical costs without health insurance can be much higher and may impact someone’s life for many years. Health insurance remains the best option for containing and managing medical and emergency personal health costs. Newberry College is not financially responsible for students’ health needs, and health care and/or insurance are not covered by any fees at the College.
All student-athletes participating at Newberry College and all international students* at Newberry College are required to have health insurance and will be required to carry insurance. This may be part of a College offering if they are not covered through a parent or family insurance plan.
*International students and student athletes have specific health insurance requirements and should talk with their representatives and athletic department staff for guidance.
