The Master of Education in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum complements our existing offerings by providing certified teachers and educational leaders with advanced knowledge and skills. With a focus on personalized learning, professional advancement, and cutting edge curriculum, the MEd program enhances Newberry College's commitment to shaping the future of education.
The program offers two areas of concentration:
Multilingual Learner Education: Expands expertise in culturally and linguistically diverse education. Students can also add courses to obtain English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) certification in South Carolina.
Literacy Leadership: Focuses on teaching of literacy and literacy leadership skills, with add-on courses for literacy teacher, literacy coach, and literacy specialist endorsement in South Carolina.
Program Learning Outcomes:
1. Analyze instructional design models to inform the creation of effective, learner-centered educational experiences
Objective #1: Explain key instructional design frameworks (ADDIE, UDL, TPACK, SAMR)
Objective #2: Compare and contrast how these models guide lesson planning and technology integration
Objective #3: Apply selected models to design a learning experience
2. Design and develop innovative learning environments using current and emerging technologies that support diverse learners in various educational contexts
