Stagecraft II is designed to provide continued instruction and further practical application of modern technical theatre practices, backstage organization, scenic construction, stage lighting and sound. Textual materials and lectures will be supported by hands-on projects and production experience. Students continue to develop a methodology for executing technical elements of a theatrical production in an educational theatre setting. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate advanced levels of competency in the following areas of technical theatre: Carpentry, Lighting, Sound, and/or other specific technical theatre topics as covered in the class. Major production involvement in a leadership capacity such as Crew Chief, Master Carpenter, or Master Electrician, as well as construction support for Theatre program productions is expected. This class meets for three classroom hours per week.
