Our campus is equipped with a wide range of technological tools and services designed to facilitate learning, research, and collaboration in an increasingly digital world.

IT provides a comprehensive suite of services, including network management, technical support, and software resources. The IT help desk is available to assist with any technology-related issues on college-owned devices, ensuring that students, faculty, and staff have the support they need.

IT is located in the Darrow Naval Training House at 1814 College Street. You can reach the help desk by emailing helpdesk@newberry.edu or by calling 803.321.5646.

Campus Wi-Fi
We offer robust and secure Wi-Fi access throughout the entire campus. Whether you are in the classroom, library, residence halls, or common areas, you can stay connected with high-speed internet access to support your academic and personal needs.

Bring your Own Device Policy
At Newberry College we support the use of personal devices for academic purposes under our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy. All devices must comply with our security protocols, including up-to-date antivirus software and regular system updates. Users are responsible for the security of their devices and must report any breaches immediately to the IT department. Accessing the campus network with personal devices requires adherence to the Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy. Non-compliance with these guidelines may result in restricted access to network resources and disciplinary action.

While IT does not service or support student devices, they are available to help troubleshoot issues as time permits.

Computer Labs and Workstations
Our campus features several computer labs equipped with the latest hardware and software. These labs are available for student use and offer access to specialized software required for various courses and projects. A general use computer lab can be found in Wessels library.

Learning Management System (LMS) and Microsoft 365
The Learning Management System (LMS) is accessible through Wolfden. Instructors will utilize Wolfden to facilitate online learning and course management. Through the LMS, students can access course materials, submit assignments, participate in discussions, and communicate with instructors. The LMS is an integral part of our blended learning approach, supporting both in-person and online education.

All students also have access to Microsoft 365 (MS365). Through MS365 students have access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products. Students also have access to OneDrive, a place to store work safely in the cloud and share it with colleagues or instructors. Finally, students have access to Microsoft Teams, another secure place to store and share documents and connect virtually with colleagues, instructors, and friends.

Digital Library Resources
Many of the resources in Wessels library are digital. Through Wolfden, we provide extensive online resources, including academic journals, e-books, databases, and multimedia content. Students can access these resources remotely, ensuring they have the information they need for research and study anytime and anywhere.

Smart Classrooms
The classrooms at Newberry College are equipped with advanced technology to support interactive and engaging learning experiences. This includes smartboards, large screen high definition monitors and integrated audio-visual systems. These tools enhance instruction and enable innovative teaching methods.

Cybersecurity
We prioritize the security of our digital environment and the privacy of our community. Our IT department implements robust cybersecurity measures and provides guidance on best practices to protect personal and institutional data.

Innovation and Research
We are committed to fostering innovation and supporting research through technology. At Newberry College we believe that technology is a cornerstone of modern education. We continuously invest in and upgrade our technological resources to provide an environment where you can thrive academically and personally. Welcome to a campus where technology meets opportunity!

Acceptable Use Policy
The College has an Acceptable Use Policy. This policy outlines the standards and guidelines for the appropriate use of our IT resources to ensure a secure, efficient, and respectful digital environment for all users. Adhering to these guidelines is required for all members of our community to maintain access to vital academic and administrative services and to foster a responsible and ethical use of technology.
