Course Load

Traditional students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester in order to be considered full-time. Generally, 15-17 credit hours constitute a normal semester load, although students may enroll in as many as 21 hours without special permission. Students may enroll in up to 18 credit hours without additional tuition. Students will be charged $1095 for each credit hour beyond 18 credit hours (exemptions to this policy are for Summerland Honors and Bachelor of Music Education students, who may enroll in a maximum of 21 hours without an additional charge). Students who desire to register for more than 21 credit hours in a semester are required to secure the written authorization of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (or his/her designee). Generally, students seeking to enroll in more than 18 credit hours must possess a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Students on academic probation are not permitted to register for more than 18 hours in a semester.
