Dropping a Course/Withdrawing from a Course

Students must secure permission from their faculty advisor and the course professor and return the Drop Form (https://my.newberry.edu/ICS/Students/Office_of_the_Registrar/Student_Academic_Forms/ ) to the Office of the Registrar before dropping a course, during the drop period - usually the first week of the semester. The same form may be used to withdraw from a course after the drop period. Faculty may assign a grade of AW (Administrative Withdrawal) under circumstances outlined in the AW policy located on the course syllabus.

See the 2024-2025 academic calendar for specific drop and withdrawal dates: https://www.newberry.edu/academics/academic-resources/calendar.

Students with unresolved Academic Integrity or Code of Conduct violations cannot withdraw from the course until a final determination of the charges has been completed.
