A portion of this major is offered online through a consortium of accredited colleges and universities. The Neuroscience core courses (NEU) are delivered by faculty employed by partner institutions in the consortium, with technology and administrative support provided by Rize Education. Courses offered through the consortium are reviewed and approved by Newberry College. Students register through Newberry College and receive academic credit from Newberry College.
Program Learning Outcomes:
1. Students will be able to explain a wide range of neurological phenomena, including behavior, the senses, movement, emotions, and a range of disorders.
2. Students will be able to combine understanding from psychology, biology, and neuroscience to explain the phenomenon of cognition.
3. Students will be able to describe both historical and modern approaches to neuroscience and psychiatry.
Requirements for the Major in Neuroscience (not including General Education Core).
