RIZE Consortium and VA Education Benefits
This addendum applies to the following RIZE majors and courses.
Majors: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Healthcare Administration, Digital Marketing, Business Administration (E-Sport Management, Supply Chain Management, and Project Management concentrations)
Courses: ESM, PMT, SCM, CSC, CYS, HCA, DGM
Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Benefits Eligibility
Newberry College is dedicated to supporting students utilizing VA education benefits while ensuring compliance with VA and State Council of Higher Education (SCHE) regulations. Courses and concentrations offered through the RIZE platform are not eligible for VA benefits, and enrollment in these will result in non-payment by the VA. Students using VA benefits for RIZE courses will be obligated to repay any VA benefits used to pay for these courses. Newberry's VA School Certifying Official carefully reviews student schedules to maintain eligibility. For questions, contact the Registrar & VA School Certifying Official.

Newberry College will accept a maximum of 18 hours for core curriculum course credit earned through the Straighterline and/or Sophia Learning platforms. Students must provide an official ACE (American Council on Education) or ACE-approved transcript for evaluation by Newberry College. Course grades transferred from other institutions are not calculated in the student's Newberry College GPA. No credit will be given for 300- and 400-level courses in the student's major or minor, and residency requirements for transfer students apply. Courses taken through Straighterline and/or Sophia Learning platforms do not fulfill requirements for nursing or education prerequisite courses.
