The B.S. in Applied Mathematics is for students who want to complete a 3+2 dual degree in Mathematics and Engineering with Clemson University. To earn the dual degree, students should follow this plan:
Years 1-3
Newberry College Core Curriculum credits = 40
Newberry College Applied Mathematics major requirements = 42
Newberry College Elective/Minor requirements = 8
Year 4
General Engineering credits at Clemson = 30 (applied to the Newberry College degree)
Obtain degree in Applied Mathematics from Newberry College
Year 5
Complete remaining credits at Clemson University (30, or as advised) to graduate with a General Engineering degree.
Newberry College courses are transferred to Clemson University toward the degree.
NOTE: If a student chooses not to transfer to Clemson after year 3, they can complete the requirements for the Mathematics major at Newberry College in their fourth year. In this case, they would not earn the Applied Mathematics degree that Clemson requires.
