An introduction to the South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program and the teaching profession as a leadership career. This seminar provides students with an orientation to college expectations, available support systems, and the Teaching Fellows community while fostering cohort development and mentoring relationships with the Campus Director and fellow Fellows. Emphasis is placed on understanding the role of teachers as leaders through the study of leadership theories, leadership styles, diversity, classroom and community leadership, and the characteristics and practices of effective educational leaders.
