A culminating seminar focused on the transition from teacher candidate to professional educator. Through continued exploration of leadership and the leadership skills of effective teachers, Fellows examine professional responsibilities, teacher identity, and the application of effective and innovative teaching practices. Topics include professional engagement, school and community involvement, financial planning, work-life balance, self-care, and strategies for a successful transition into the teaching profession. The seminar is completed alongside the directed teaching experience and emphasizes reflection, leadership development, and readiness for the first year of teaching.
